Our city does not have an Economic Development Coordinator.  Can we still benefit from having a website?

Absolutely!  Every city needs a website.  While we require one or two people for basic account contact, it is not necessary to have dedicated personnell to maintain your site.  We provide essential copywriting and copy editing, photo editing and graphics services as well as all technical site maintenance.  All you have to do is send your information to us in an email, and we'll write it up, edit and layout all photos and publish it to your site.  Our 'No Hassle' site management services mean you never have to touch your website if you don't want to.

Our city has more than one department responsible for maintaining their own information.  Can they each have access to  update their section of the site?

Yes.  Your website can be easly configured to allow specific access to create or update information to different employees.  This helps busy IT managers who would otherwise spend all their time gathering information from different departments to update the site.

How is your pricing determined?

We charge a flat fee for initial site construction which is determined according to the size of the site needed and a monthly hosting and maintenance fee determined by the number of services purchased.  Please see our pricing page for more information.

What software are your content management websites based on?

We do not use proprietary software.  Instead, we use any of a number of open source content management systems.  Which system is implemented for your particular site is based on your specific needs.  The advantages of using open source software are inumerable.  First, your content is not locked into our system.  Also, open source systems, because they are actively developed by enthusiastic programmers who actually use the software, are generally more secure, more robust and updated more frequently.

How long does it take to create a site?

We can have a basic site up and running within a matter of a few days if need be.  More complicated sites take longer.  It really depends on the amount of content and the sophistication of the design and architecture that is needed.  Typically, we try to finalize sites within one month of the start date.  Much of the time involved often includes communicating with the client for consultation and approvals, research for copywriting or even traveling onsite for face-to-face meetings, photography, etc...

How does your backup software work?

The backup software is installed on your computers or servers on a per seat license basis.  Each system can then be configured to backup specific files on a predetermined schedule.  After encryption, the data is securely transmitted via your internet connection to the backup servers.  The software is designed to minimize bandwidth use while uploading.

Do you come to our city when you create our site?

That's up to you.  Although it is not always absolutely necessary, we have no problem with traveling onsite for consultation and research if need be.

Do you provide email services as well?

Yes.  Your website comes with 5 email addresses and POP3 email accounts up front.  You can add accounts as needed.  To avoid having to migrate users to entirely new accounts, you can optionally forward your new addresses to any existing email addresses you may have.

What kind of content can we include in our website?

You name it!  Your site can be customized to allow publication of almost any type of content from simple press releases to job and real estate listings to video and audio files.
